The new Sony Cybershot H10 uses a great Carl Zeiss 10x optical zoom lens with great SteadyShot optical image stabilization to capture action. The lens yields sharp, high-contrast images and reduces color fringing, even when shooting in telephoto ranges.

It has 8.1 Megapixels, 10X Optical zoom, 2X Digital Zoom, 3 inches LCD, and it uses Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo, Memory Stick Duo, or Memory Stick PRO Duo to store images.

Its improved shooting mode now employ a system to apply higher shutter speeds, up to 1/4000 of a second, more frequently than on previous models. This mode combine high shutter speeds with predictive continuous auto-focusing so you can quickly focus and capture fast-moving subjects with minimal shutter lag - fundamentally the time it takes for the camera to focus and shoot.

The large, bright 3.0″ Clear Photo LCD Plus display, and an anti-reflective coating provides for brilliant visibility to help you create, view, and share photos with outstanding clarity and color reproduction, even in bright sunlight.

    • You cannot take a picture: maybe memory card is full. Move the pictures to a computer and erase the memory card, or delete pictures that you do not need, or switch to a smaller image size.
    • A delay occurs between your pressing the shutter button and the shutter opening. In this case, you could miss fleeting expressions.
    • Control which part of the scene the camera will focus on: Read your user guide. Understand how focus works in various exposure modes.
    • Focus lamp blinks when you press the shutter button halfway down. Camera may be having trouble focusing.
    • If flash photos are too dark, you are probably too far from the subject. Most built-in flash units are good only up to about ten feet. They don’t have the power to illuminate subjects much father than that.
    • Photos are too light when using flash: Reduce the flash power.
    • Pictures are blurred: Hold the camera steady as you smoothly press the shutter. You are too close to the subject, or the subject might be moving too fast.
    • A no-no: Taking pictures of hte sun or other objects that are bright. You will injure your eyes, and the sensors.

Ever tried taking a picture and find it to be all fuzzy? Well in photo lingo that is called noise. Sometimes when a camera’s weight is not right, the user tends to create unwanted movements while taking pictures. Other times noise is caused by a slow shutter speed. Whatever the reason may be, you don’t want noise in your pictures.A lot of digital cameras out in the market now have a noise reduction feature. While this feature was more common in SLR, many point-and-shoot models have it now too. Although it does not totally eradicate that unwanted noise, it does however, make all those noise-filled photos easier to fix.

Anythng can go wrong. Here are some of them:

    • Camera seems to be turned off (or maybe in the sleep mode). The camera usually does this, so as not to drain the batteries.  Press the shutter button halfway down to wake up your camera. Or turn the camera off then on. Most cameras shot down completely after one hour of not being in use, but you can program this.
    • Camera can’t be turned on:  batteries are dead or removed, or the absence of memory card.
    • Batteries drain quickly: stop using the monitor for taking and viewing pictures.  If you are in a very cold place, keep the camera and its batteries under your coat.
    • Turn the camera on:  batteries are fully charged as shown by a battery shaped icon on the control panel. Batteries that are getting low or empty should be immediately replaced.
    • Error message when camera is turned on: there is a problem with the memory card.
